Add a High-performance Video Card to Create Your Own Personal eGPU Workstation
Transform Your Thunderbolt Windows or Intel-based Mac Computer Into a Graphics Workstation
Whether you’re editing, rendering, color grading, animating or creating special effects, many of the pro applications you use rely on desktop and workstation graphics (GPU) cards to do the heavy lifting in processing data. Unfortunately, many popular computers are equipped only with integrated graphics or low-power discrete GPUs that bottleneck performance when performing these tasks. Happily, there’s a simple path to greater productivity — add a Sonnet external GPU (eGPU). eGPU Breakaway™ Box 750ex Thunderbolt to GPU PCIe Card Expansion System boosts your eGPU-compatible computer’s graphics performance by connecting a high-performance GPU card to your computer via a single Thunderbolt™ cable.

Future-proof Upgrade
With high-performance GPU cards, users can look forward to a step (or leap) forward in performance. Less predictable is how much power they will require to operate — better performance frequently requires increased power. For eGPU users, power consumption can be a concern. Don’t limit your video graphics card choices — choose an eGPU Breakaway Box. Equipped with a 750W power supply, this Sonnet chassis easily supports the power demands of high-performance GPUs.

No Compromise GPU Card Choice
eGPU Breakaway Box 750ex is designed specifically to accommodate the most power-hungry double-width GPU cards. With a GPU card installed, a Breakaway Box functions as a simple plug-in upgrade to significantly accelerate the demanding needs of your video production workflow. It supports Thunderbolt-compatible cards* with popular GPU chipsets — such as AMD Radeon RX series GPUs, and NVIDIA GeForce series and TITAN GPUs. Even high-performance pro cards — AMD Radeon Pro, NVIDIA Quadro, and Intel ARC GPUs — are supported! (Note that macOS supports only through AMD GPU 6000 series cards, only with Intel Macs, while Windows supports AMD, NVIDIA, and Intel ARC cards.)

Compatible with Thunderbolt 4 Windows Computers
eGPU Breakaway Box 750ex is fully compatible with Thunderbolt 4 Windows computers and was purposely designed with a Thunderbolt 3 controller and its four lanes of PCIe (not available in a Thunderbolt 4 peripheral) to achieve maximum performance. Watch this video to learn more about the performance benefits.
4K to 8K Workflows – Connect Two or More Breakaway Boxes
Many task times on supported applications — such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Maxon Cinema 4D, to name a few — can be cut significantly with one eGPU Breakaway Box connected. But, for computers with multiple Thunderbolt ports, times can be slashed when two, three, or four Breakaway Boxes are employed. Connecting one or more eGPUs can multiply your computer’s graphics processing power, enabling it to handle 4K, 5K, 6K, and 8K workflows more efficiently. Plus, a computer’s onboard discrete GPU also contributes to the aggregate performance.
More Ports, Additional Functionality
Is your computer short on ports for basic connectivity? eGPU Breakaway Box 750ex adds four 5 Gbps USB-A (USB 3.2 Gen 1) ports to connect peripherals, plus an RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port for a wired network connection. The 750ex features a dual Thunderbolt controller design, enabling it to support both peripherals and GPU card through the single Thunderbolt connection to your computer.

Design for GPU Cards, Also Supports Other Demanding PCIe Cards
The Breakaway Box’s single x16 PCIe 3.0 slot accommodates full-length, double-width cards, and its 750W power supply supports trouble-free operation. Its single-port Thunderbolt interface ensures Thunderbolt’s maximum PCIe bandwidth is dedicated to the installed card.
Coolest and Quietest Add-Your-Own-Card eGPU System Available
With its large variable-speed temperature-controlled fan that quietly and effectively cools the installed card, eGPU Breakaway Box can be comfortably used in noise-sensitive working environments.

Graphic-Intensive Gaming Support
There’s no need for you to carry a heavy, loud, and hot-running gaming laptop to have a great gaming experience — just plug in a Breakaway Box and add the GPU power you want when you need it! A Breakaway Box is ideal for empowering graphic-intensive gaming on an Intel processor-based MacBook Air or 13-inch MacBook Pro, Ultrabook and other thin/light notebook computers that otherwise would deliver a poor gaming experience. Accelerated graphics can either be displayed on one, two, or more external monitors, or on your notebook’s own display panel.(4) Best of all, you can upgrade the GPU card in the Box to keep up with high-performance GPU technology (unlike with gaming laptops).
