When connected to a computer’s Thunderbolt 5 port, your Thunderbolt 5-upgraded Sonnet system gains up to 27% (up to 3500 MB/s, Echo Express SE III or IIIe*) or 133% (6800 MB/s, Echo Express SE I) more PCIe bandwidth compared to its original interface. With significantly more bandwidth available, high-performance PCIe cards — such as 4K and 8K video I/O cards (supporting multiple channels and high frame rates), multiport 10Gb and 25Gb Ethernet adapters, and NVMe SSD cards — will perform even better than before.

More Than Just the Fastest External Interface Available

Sonnet ultra-high speed Thunderbolt 5 interface upgrade cards provide the extra PCIe bandwidth needed to support most cards at maximum performance. One of two ports is reserved for connecting your computer, while the second port can connect Thunderbolt or USB peripheral devices.

Secure Connections for High Performance: Thunderbolt Cable and ThunderLok Included

Sonnet includes a Thunderbolt cable engineered to deliver Thunderbolt 5’s full bandwidth and power delivery performance. The cable is fully compatible with Thunderbolt 5, 4, and 3, and USB4 computers. A Sonnet ThunderLok Thunderbolt connector lock is also included to prevent accidental cable disconnections from the Thunderbolt 5 upgrade card.

Sonnet Thunderbolt 5 upgrade cards’ Thunderbolt ports are equipped with threaded mounting holes to securely attach a Sonnet ThunderLok connector lock, preventing Thunderbolt cables from accidentally disconnecting.
